Tandy and Yuki - A success story

Dear Monica and staff:

Moses and I just wanted to tell you how happy, safe, and loved we are with our new parents. We both are FeLV positive but Mom is giving us such good stuff to help our immune systems be strong. She also burns lavender and puts on soothing music for us.

I was formerly named Yuki and was adopted about 2 years ago. My brother Moses, formerly Tandy, was adopted 6 months ago. Even though we miss our Monica and our foster mom, we are so happy to have a safe place to call home.

We'll be in touch and send more pictures later.

Thank you Dr. Thompson for loving us and for finding us our mom and dad.

Love Maya and Moses

Zander - A success story

Hello,

My family adopted Zander from you on July 11. We've had a great time welcoming him into our family -- he is such a love. He has adjusted beautifully to our home and has become a great companion to our 3yr old daughter. He's even slowly making friends with our very crabby older cat. She still occasionally hisses at him but she will at least be in the same room with him without causing a ruckus.

He's also turned into a major couch potato and spends much of his day there. In the evenings when we're home, he'll scoot over to let us join him, but he's reluctant to give up his prime snoozing spot. Must be a guy thing!

Thank you to everyone at the shelter for helping us find the perfect cat. Everyone's knowledge of his personality made a huge difference, so we knew what to expect from him. We're so happy with him.

Just wanted to update you on how he's doing. Thanks again,
Lisa, Jim, and Zelly

Update on Queenie & The Duchess

Hi,

Just a note to let you know that Queenie and The Duchess have settled in already at our home and in our hearts.

Thanks again for all the great work that you do and for helping us find the right two kitties for us.

Cynthia

Who would throw this little kitty out of a car window?

Friday, July 10th at 4:45 p.m. during RUSH HOUR on bay area freeway, 92 entrance from the 880 freeway, a 3 month old grey and white baby kitten was THROWN out the window by a person in a white cream small pickup with a shell. The kitten was hit by the person in the car in back of him. He was brought in by a woman that saw him being thrown from the truck window and get hit by the car in back of the truck.
She rushed the kitten to the Nine Lives Foundation's vet, the Feline Well-Care Clinic in Redwood City...where the kitten is doing well, no broken bones but of course, the kitten must be in shock from all this kitten has been through.

If anyone knows who this coward is that threw the kitten out of his truck to face an awful and violent death and fled, please email us so we can add it to the report.

We cannot express our horror. To throw a live kitten on the freeway to somehow fend for itself. How could anyone have so little compassion and such RAGE, that they would do this terrible thing. This poor 3 month old grey and white kitten could have been someones beloved new kitten. In this case, something went very wrong. What would motivate a person to do this?

These photos show the kitten at safety at Nine Lives Foundation Vet Hospital. This sweet kitten is so happy to be warm, secure, wounds healing and on the mend. Contributions to help pay for his care, no matter how small the donation would be much appreciated. Call Nine Lives Foundation / Feline Well-Care Clinic at (650) 368-1365 and ask for Marcella and say you want to donate to the FREEWAY KITTY FUND!!

This sweet kitty still needs a permanent home where the kitten will never have to face this type of terror again.

Success Story- Gino and Tito

Dear Nine Lives,

We just wanted to write and give you an update on our kitties, Cash and Koa (formerly known as Gino and Tito), who we adopted about 5 months ago. They are doing great and getting big! We couldn't be happier! They have the best personalities-- everyone who meets them says so. They love to play and wrestle, and then curl up on the chair and sleep. They are truly the sweetest kitties and we are so happy to have found them!! Now we couldn't imagine life without them. Thank you for helping us find them and for the wonderful work you do for cats!

Jerico - A success story

Dear Nine Lives Foundation,

We adopted Jerico last September from you and we are so happy to have him as part of our family.

Jerico was quiet at first but he became a lot more outgoing and vocal. He loves his scratching pole and anything stringy (as you can see in the photo). He is a sweet kitty and it has been a joy to have him in our life. I am a little bit jealous though because he seems to love my husband more. Jerico follows my husband everywhere he goes but of course it's very sweet and it's all good.
Jerico has brought so much love and laughter into our home and we look forward to spend all the upcoming years with him.
